How this can promote the use of sustainable fuel

Big motor events such as Goodwood promoting and using sustainable fuel will cause a domino effect, where other events and companies will slowly start following in the same direction as well. More use will mean more production, resullting in lower manufacturing and selling costs, which is the biggest problem that plagues the use of sustainable fuel at this time.

Sebastian Vettel, who starred at the Festival in 2023 with his Williams FW14B and McLaren MP4/8, remarked, “It was evident to me at the Festival of Speed that the Goodwood team shares my passion for motor racing. I relished sharing my ‘Race Without Trace’ initiative with fans and showcasing how sustainable fuels can pave the way for a viable future in our beloved sport. Goodwood’s leadership in promoting sustainable fuels at historic racing events is commendable.”

Electric vs. sustainable fuel infrastructure

As many technicians have already stated, a 2060-2070 date for the ban of combustion vehicles is much more likely than the already planned 2035 date. This is because the infrastructure for electric vehicles is nowhere near a state where a major switch to electric could be realistic.

Whereas the infrastructure for sustainable fuel already exists and we’ve been using it for so many years. Nowhere near the amount of money would have to be spent to switch from regular fuel to sustainable fuel compared to switching to electric. Huge Companies in the car industry such as BMW and Toyota have already taken a strong stand against the ban on combustion vehicles.
