Important reminder about new theory test centre locations

A new theory test service for England, Scotland and Wales will start from Monday 6 September. Please remember, especially those who may have already taken a theory test, that many theory test centre locations will change from 6 September 2021.

All pupils with a theory test booking from 6 September onwards will have received the correct address for their theory test centre appointment on their booking confirmation email.

We recommend that pupils check the theory test centre address they have been given on their confirmation email in plenty of time before their test, and before travelling to the centre.

If they do not turn up for their appointment at the time and location they booked, they will lose their fee and will need to book and pay for a new appointment.

While we have made changes to our theory test centre network, the theory test is not changing. Practical driving test centre locations are not affected by the changes.

As part of the roll out of DVSA’s new theory test service, the locations of many theory test centres are changing. We can now confirm a further new theory test centre location.

• The new test centre in Colchester will be located at:
• First Floor, Block F, The Knowledge Gateway, Nesfield Road, Colchester, CO423L
